How to Plan Your Oahu Maternity Photo Session in Honolulu

Now, let’s discuss how to plan your maternity photo session in Oahu effectively to assure you are receiving the best experience:

  1. Plan Ahead: Start planning your Oahu family photo session at least 2-3 months in advance (before your due date). This allows you to secure your preferred photographer and date. If you want a more full baby bump plan photos no later than 36 weeks and no sooner than 30. This will of course depend on the individual, & your needs, etc.
  2. Golden Hour Magic: For the most enchanting lighting, book your session during the golden hour, shortly after sunrise or just before sunset. This soft, warm light creates a magical atmosphere for your family photos. Remember, the mountains will block some of the light so you might get indirect golden hour sunlight at sunrise on the west, and indirect golden hour sunlight at sunset on the east.
  3. Consider Your Family’s Schedule: Choose the timing of your photo session based on your family’s daily routine and preferences. Some families prefer morning sessions, while others may opt for evening ones. This mainly depends on which time zone your kids are currently in. It takes 1 hour for every hour difference in time zones to shift your internal clock. And some kids don’t ever shift their internal clock!
  4. Special Occasion Focus: If you are looking to announce baby’s gender, announce baby in general, or simply celebrate your baby being in the world, please be sure to let me know all the details and if there is anything that I can do to accommodate any special requests or anything else. Please share this info on your Oahu client photo session questionnaire.
