FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best time to schedule maternity photos & how far in advance should I book?
The ideal time for maternity photos is between 28–34 weeks, when your baby bump is beautifully visible and you’re still comfortable enough to enjoy your session.
If you’re planning a babymoon in Hawaii, I recommend reaching out as soon as your travel dates are confirmed so we can reserve the best date. Popular travel seasons, holidays, and spring break dates often book several months in advance.
Where do maternity sessions take place?
I photograph maternity sessions at beautiful beach locations across Oahu, including Waikiki, Waimanalo, Ko Olina, Lanikai, Kahala, Hawaii Kai, and Turtle Bay. If you are booking a mini session, I have set mini session locations. I’ll recommend the best location based on where you’re staying & the collection you’re booking.
What's the best time of day for maternity photos?
Sunrise is my favorite time for Oahu maternity photography. The beaches are quieter, the light is soft and flattering, and Hawaii’s time difference often works in your favor during the first few days of your vacation. Sunset sessions are also beautiful, and I’m happy to recommend the best option based on where you’re staying and the experience you’re hoping for.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
Soft, neutral colors photograph beautifully on Oahu’s beaches. Flowing dresses and lightweight fabrics photograph especially well in the ocean breeze. Every booking includes my Session Prep Guide and Style + Vendor Guide, filled with outfit inspiration, local shopping recommendations, and trusted vendors to help you feel confident and prepared before your session.
Can my partner and/or children be included?
Absolutely! Most maternity sessions include your partner, and siblings are always welcome. My goal is to capture not only your pregnancy, but also the excitement and connection your growing family shares during this special season of life.
How much does a maternity session cost?
I offer three thoughtfully designed collections ranging from $650–$1,299, depending on the number of people being photographed and the experience you’re looking for. Every collection includes personalized location recommendations, a Session Prep Guide, a Style + Vendor Guide, professionally edited images, and a private online gallery. I’ll help you choose the collection that’s the best fit for your family.
Do you still offer newborn photography?
Yes—but only on a limited basis.
Over the years, my business has evolved to focus primarily on Oahu maternity/couples photography and family photography. While I no longer actively advertise newborn sessions, I do occasionally accept a small number of natural, beach newborn sessions when my schedule allows or if you are booking a maternity session. I offer $100 off any package when you book both maternity and beach newborn.
If you’re interested in newborn photography, please reach out with your due date and a little information about your family. If I’m available, I’d be happy to let you know whether a newborn session would be a good fit.
