Finding the right photographer is very important. Here are some tips to help you find the right person.

Style

You want to make sure the photographer that you select has a style that aligns with your “photo style” – this includes their editing style (i.e. dark and moody, true to color, dreamy/creamy, light and airy, film), and their shooting style (e.g. portrait, lifestyle, studio, beach/outdoor).

Reviews

When I am looking for an airbnb or a Turo car-sharing rental, I always look at the reviews. The same strategy should be applied when finding your Oahu Vacation photographer.

I knew what to expect, but when I saw our photos they even surpassed my high expectations. They are my dream family photos. She beautifully captured our family as a whole and our smaller family. One thing that can help you filter through the fluff to see how the photographer might work with your family, is by looking for something that the person was not sure about, or having trouble with during the photoshoot (or before/after), and what the photographer did to help. This mom wasn’t sure how her son would do and she was so surprised and excited that I knew how to work with her son and that I was able to capture great photos of her little one, which is a common worry for families. I photograph families every single week out of the year (unless I am on vacation!) and I have been a family photographer for 6.5 years so I am very familiar with how to engage and work with kids age 0-100.
