Amazon Fall Family Photo Outfits | 2025 San Francisco Mini Sessions
I have finally put together an Amazon list for my clients Fall Family photo outfits and I am excited to share! These outfits are in stock (as of September 3!) and I’ve looked through the reviews as well because I know how time consuming that gets.
One of the most common questions I hear is: “What should we wear for our Fall photo session?” Styling your whole family can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be.
To make things simple, I’ve curated a list of Amazon fall outfit picks for family photos that photograph beautifully, complement my lighter editing style, and are versatile enough for Bay Area weather. These pieces are affordable, stylish, and timeless — perfect for your next Bay Area family photo session.

🍂 Fall Color Palette
Bolder fall tones can look stunning in photos, and they work well when they’re balanced with neutrals and earth tones. Just be sure to think about how much green foliage will be in your images based on your photo location.
Some of my favorite colors in 2025 for fall family photos include:
Rust
Olive
Mustard
Soft plum
Camel and taupe
Cream and beige
✨ Tip: Choose one family member to wear a bold, muted color, and have everyone else in coordinating neutrals or softer shades.

👨👩👧 Coordinating vs. Matching
Instead of having everyone match (like all white shirts and jeans), aim for coordination.
Pick one patterned piece (like a floral dress, plaid shirt, or striped romper).
- I have seen certain patterns together and it is possible, so don’t think you can’t put your family in 2 different patterns
Build the rest of the family’s outfits around it with solids that pull from the pattern.
Mix textures (knit, linen, denim) to add visual interest without overwhelming the look.
👗 Amazon Fall Outfit Inspiration for Families
Not sure how to put it all together? Here are a few ways to think about combining colors and pieces for your fall family session.
Choose One Bold Color – Pick one person to wear a bold fall tone (rust, mustard, olive, or plum), and balance it with neutrals and textures on everyone else.
Mix Textures, Not Just Colors – Combine knits, linen, and corduroy for depth and coziness.
Stick With Neutrals if Unsure – Cream, taupe, camel, and gray always look timeless.

🚫 What Not to Wear for Fall Family Photos
To keep your photos looking polished and timeless, here are a few things I recommend avoiding:
Neon or overly bright colors – These can clash with natural surroundings and don’t work well with my editing style.
Large logos or graphics – They can be distracting and date your photos quickly.
Too much black – A little is fine, but all-black outfits can look heavy in fall portraits.
Shiny fabrics – Satin or reflective materials can create harsh glare in natural light.
Everyone in the same outfit – Matching head-to-toe doesn’t always work; coordination usually works better. However, if you want your kids to match – that is OK! I have seen it done and the kids look cute. Just try to put them in a lighter color or find outfits that when placed together they do not look like 1 person, which is what can happen when you match. In the end, these are your photos so it is totally up to you!
