A few of MY Favorite Local Shops & Resources
I love sharing a good thing when I find it and I am all about supporting our amazing local community – our ohana – and the people who make it so great! What better way to do so than to shine a light on our family, friends and neighbors who are small business owners.
Here’s a few local businesses and resources that I personally love, or that other moms have recommended and LOVE….I hope that you’ll consider checking them out as well.
Mahalo!
Moon Physical Therapy
I personally used their services after having my 2nd baby and they were amazing! You can also see them for a clogged milk duct as they do ultrasound therapy. This is not common in the USA, but very common in countries like the UK and Australia. Definitely google it and have a look at the research and let me know if it also works well for you!

If you are looking for a physical therapist, Moon Physical Therapy has offices in Honolulu, Mililani, and Kailua. They offer specialized treatment services for any injury, discomfort, or painful symptom you may be feeling.
Hau’oli Breastfeeding
I did not get to work with Yuko personally, but she came highly recommended by other moms!

Yuko Matsubayashi Kowal is a midwife from Tokyo, Japan. She is also a IBCLC (Lactation Consultant), a certified yoga teacher, and a Hawaii state massage therapist. Yuko is passionate about supporting new mothers and babies for their “Happy Breastfeeding” because she believes that breastfeeding can be an important foundation for the family. As a Japanese midwife, she is skilled in “breast massage,” and holistic midwifery vision. Also as a mother of two, she has her own realistic breastfeeding experience. Her warm heart and hands will treat and heal you well.
Posh Favors
If you’re looking for cookies for any special occasion look no further! Jolie’s cookies are not only tasty but they are also beautiful works of art. They’re so pretty you almost don’t want to eat them! We did one of their Easter DIY cookie boxes and my daughter was IN HEAVEN decorating her heart away. I recommend emailing her at least 3 months in advance because she books up really quickly! I wanted to use her for a special occasion, but she was sadly booked, so we did DIY easter cookies instead.
Fit4mom – Kaneohe, Kailua, Aiea
I personally love Fit4mom! I started their fitness classes when I was about 28-37 weeks pregnant, and I wish I had done Fit4mom with my first! I knew that I needed to workout but I do much better when I am social and working out, so this class was perfect for me. Fit4baby and Stroller Strides are my favorite classes- In general, I love that the classes are outdoors at different locations near my home, I can bring my kids to class, and I get to chat with other moms that I love chatting with about motherhood and everything in between while getting fit!

From pregnancy workouts through postpartum and beyond, FIT4MOM offers fitness classes for moms at every workout level and stage of motherhood.
Haumea Designs
I love the flower crowns that Arleen with Haumea Designs creates! Her rates are very reasonable for the amount of work and cost of the materials that it takes to create these flower crowns. Her haku leis are between $55-85 plus tax depending on the size of the lei. She prefers orders 2 weeks in advance but will accept orders the week of the shoot, which I know is really helpful for some families.
Follow her at @haumeadesigns on instagram, and email her at arleen@haumeadesigns.com to place an order
